Welcome to Onboard Skatepark — Where Everyone’s Welcome to Ride, Grow, and Belong
We’re Onboard Skatepark — Sheffield’s indoor home for skateboarding, BMX, scooters, inline, and parkour. But we’re much more than just a skatepark. Since opening our doors in the summer of 2012, our mission has been simple: to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and inspired to reach their potential — on and off the ramps.
Who We Are
Onboard was started with a passion for community and youth development. We wanted to build a safe, inclusive place where young people could ride, learn, and find support — especially those who might not fit easily into other environments.
Over the years, we’ve grown into a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving lives through wheeled sports. Our doors are open to riders of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities — whether you’re stepping on a board for the first time or chasing down your next big trick.
What Makes Us Different
At Onboard, we believe in “all wheels, all the time.” Whether you ride a skateboard, scooter, BMX, inline skates or just love to move — there’s a place for you here.
But what really sets us apart is our focus on people. We’re not just here for the sport; we’re here to make a difference. Our programmes are designed to support young people’s mental health, confidence, and education as much as their riding skills.
We run:
Lessons and coaching sessions for all ages and abilities.
Alternative provision and mentoring, helping young people who might struggle in traditional education find confidence and purpose.
Community projects and outreach that use wheeled sport as a force for good.
Every ramp, rail, and corner of our park has been built with care — to challenge, inspire, and welcome.
Our Space
You’ll find us on Little London Road, Sheffield (S8 0UH) — an indoor facility purpose-built for all kinds of wheeled sport. Our setup includes a creative mix of ramps, bowl, fun box, foam pit, and a rollover wave — so whether you’re practising your first drop-in or your next combo, there’s something here for you.
And because we’re indoors, the weather never stops the fun.
Our Community
What really makes Onboard special is the people. From the riders who show up week after week, to the mentors, coaches, and volunteers who make everything happen — we’re proud to have built a space where everyone can belong.
Our team includes passionate riders and coaches who know the difference this community can make. We’ve seen young people grow in confidence, make lasting friendships, and find new direction in life through what we do here.
Sometimes, the most important thing we offer isn’t just ramps — it’s space. Space to breathe, to ride, to express yourself, and to feel part of something positive.
